The board of directors of OceanNEnvironment Australia is proud to announce the first three recipients of the ‘Hero of the Seas’ award to Neville Coleman, Ronald Taylor and Valerie Taylor. The honor ‘Hero of the Seas’ is bestowed to individuals and organizations each year in the Asia Pacific and around the world and is presented in conjunction with the annual Celebrate the Sea Imagery Festival.

 The award honours those that have contributed to discovery of marine science and their unselfish, tireless efforts to preserve and protect our ocean planet. The inaugural awards for Neville Coleman, Ronald and Valerie Taylor is in  recognition of their lifetime of achievements and their enthusiasm and passion through which they have inspired and motivated others to appreciate and learn more of marine life. Their work has also inspired many to become involved with conservation of sharks and other marine critters.
