Kingsland, Texas : Sep 1,
2010 | Trip
type: Couples....................in
all respects. It was well worth the 30+
hours travel time it took us from Texas!
Small, intimate resort with extremely
friendly (but not intrusive) staff. Top
class accommodation and food (oh, those
extra lbs!) We went purely for the
diving so didn't do any tours. The diving,
however, was stupendous, everything and more
I was hoping for. I still have pictures of
creatures I don't think I will ever
identify! The dive staff were also
outstanding - thanks to my Dive Guide,
Arlen, for locating such wonderful marine
life for us and being a pleasure to dive
with.
Ladies, you have to try the spa - probably
one of the best I've ever been to.........
I would not hesitate to recommend
it and am hoping to return!

I am
compelled to write this review because after reading
a couple of unfavourable reviews while planning my
trip I was concerned I had made the wrong choice. My
wife and I are so glad we stuck with Two Fish for
our 16 days of diving. From the greeting we received
from Helen and Gizmo at Lembeh, to Nigel and the
crew waving goodbye to us when leaving Bunaken, the
trip was incredible. The staff is so happy and
friendly you instantly feel at home, and since it is
such an intimate resort you'll make a lot of friends
amongst your fellow travellers. Our dive guides took
such incredible care of us, once we handed over our
personal dive gear to them they took over, rinsing
and hanging our gear and having it ready again every
day back on the boat. We just showed up after
breakfast and went diving. The food at both resorts
is basic Indo., lots of fresh fish, fresh veggies,
and fruits and some incredible fried goodies, we
loved it. The traditional Indo. wooden cottages were
attractive, clean and more than adequate. But if
your expectations are "high end western style", then
spend $300 U.S. per night and miss the chance for
the incredible experience that Two Fish offers.
Beautiful surroundings at both locations Cheers Greg

“Fantastic
dive and leisure resort”
 Gorinchem,
The Netherlands
Dec 11, 2010
We
stayed for 5 days in this wonderful resort. We had
three days of diving (boatdives) and that was great.
The afternoon dives were better than the morning
dives but i like muck diving better. The manager Dan
is a great guy. He used to be a cook in England but
married a local woman and stayed in Manado. Because
of his background you can imagine the food is great.
Most of the times you eat a la carte in the
restaurant but sometimes they organise a buffet near
the dive bar, wich is great. The days we didn't dive
we relaxed at the pool which is huge and clean. Also
has a poolbar for snacks and drinks. The small
children's pool is cooler than the big swimming
pool, so if you need to cool down, take that one.
When we were there there were no children, probably
because the majority of the guests are divers. The
beachvilla's are also great. We had nr. 600 which is
the last house on the beach. There's also a third
pool which looks ok but we didn't use it. The dive
bar is great. This was the first decent bar we had
in the whole of Sulawesi. As long as there are
guests it stays open. Don't let there website fool
you. The site is outdated and doesn't give a correct
representation of the resort. If you go diving in
Manado and want first class diving and resort. Look
no further. .

There are few resort hotels in the area of Manado
that are of the same standard as Seaside Resort

Western demands and local atmosphere is difficult to
find in any of the other hotels around. The resort

Deluxe rooms overlook the beautiful tropical garden
with it’s free shaped swimming pool and have,
besides the usual facilities as air-conditioning,

Perfect place - to dive on Bunaken”

The Hague
Mar 26, 2010 | Trip
type: Couples
I stayed here for a week with my partner as a base
for diving around Bunaken island. We enjoyed the
garden bungalow right in front of the mangrove
trees, no complaints whatsoever, the food is good,
service is great and we love the garden settings.
Some reviewers mention "issues" but if you are
familiar with travelling in Indonesia you will get
used to those. Like in our case there was a problem
with the air conditioning, but this got fixed
quickly when we reported it.The staff is very
friendly and most of them speak good english. If you
are not there to go diving there is not much to do
at the hotel except hang around the swimming pool,
there is a free shuttle to go to manado for some
evening shopping. If
you are diving, this hotel is a good base to dive
around Bunaken using the on-site dive center
Thalassa, after returning from your dive the hotel
provides all you need to relax and enjoy the beaty
of the place, far from the busy city of Manado...

I have been to the
Gangga Island Resort 3 times. It is simply splendid.
The diving off Banka Island, Thalise and Gangga is
superb. This place is truly amazing. True the
visibility does change but the marine life equals
Lembeh Island. When its green you go macro or take a
short boat ride to Bunaken. (Lembeh is also close
by). This place is amazing, truly amazing, I have
done 1582 dives and the Gangga Area still compares.
Make sure the guys take you to Sahaung Satu, Batu
Goso, Air Banua Tanjung Arun, and Paradise. Tell the
resort what you want! The rooms are splendid. Clean
clean, enormous bathrooms, private beach bed,
Satelitte TV. My
wife used the spa and loved it. (twice!)Food is
superb considering the logistical nightmare of
getting here. Reasonable wireless in the common area
(where I am writing this from).

November 2010 was my fourth trip to the Lembeh
Resort and each stay has been better than the one
before. Since my last visit in 2007 there was a
change in the resort and dive shop managers and
although everything was good in 2007, it was
exceptional in 2010. Everyone, and I do mean
everyone, working there had a sunshine disposition
and was knowledgeable. The large variety of
excellent food was always served with a smile and
the dive guides astounded us with their ability to
find one exotic creature after another continuously
every dive. I love Lembeh and the beautiful people
working there. I would, and do, recommend Lembeh

Three hours south of Lembeh Island by speedboat,
lies the hottest new dive destination in Indonesia,
Buyat Bay. The dive sites of Buyat Bay and the
surrounding areas offer unbelievably pristine reefs
and an equally stunning topside vistas. Protection
from destructive fishing practices started with
Newmont Mining Corporation which operated a gold
mine in the nearby mountains from 1996 until 2004.
Critters@Buyat is currently the only dive operator
in the region. Started in 2008 by critters@lembeh founder
Danny Charlton, we have now developed over 30 dive
sites in the region since our initial surveys in
2008.
Accommodations
are basic yet comfortable during the initial phases
of our development of the region. Guests stay at the

I love travelling the world with my husband
( often also with my teenager son and
daughter ) and we like to consider
ourselves global nomads. We have seen so
many great places and Siladen Resort is, no
doubt, one of these. This was our second
time in Bunaken and this time we choosed
Siladen Resort because we were looking for
great diving, great food and relaxation and
our expectations were not disappointed.
- Dives here are really stunning and Siladen
diving team offer an excellent service.
Very small groups ( the biggest was our
family of 4 people ), friendly atmoshere and
extremely professional staff always at
your disposal. Snorkelling is fantastic as
well.
You can either choose to walk just a few
minutes and reach the old jetty or to go out
with the resort boats and their guides. -
The resort atmoshere is elegant (without
being opulent) but informal and cosy at the
same time. A sort of home to home. Cottages
are really lovely, romantic and extremely
clean and private.
-The staff is just wonderful and the manager
and his wife are so friendly, always present
for anything you may need but
never intrusive. - Food is wonderfully fresh
and delicious.
- Don't forget to relax at the Spa and its
beautiful setting and expert therapists
I would recommend Siladen Resort to anyone
looking for peace, outstanding diving/snorkeling
and superbe food.
Someone may object that it is a bit pricy in
comparison with other local resorts but
actually you also have a lot lot more.

Was bowled over by the staff and set-up at
Lembeh Cottages. Initially, we weren't sure
what to make of a bunch of mini-White House
wannabe houses set within a residential area
with no water in sight. But the moment we
were introduced to our cottage - the
cleanliness, the customer--oriented approach
of the staff and the diver-friendly
facilities - we loved it straight away. We
ordered our a-la carte 3-course dinner
before we arrived on the first day and the
spread that was prepared by our private chef
that evening was fresh and yummilicious.
After dinner, we settled into a wonderfully
plush bed and soft fluffy pillows. Breakfast
next morning was equally delicious. A
15-minute drive later, we were whisked by a
speed-boat to the mothership, Nautica where
we spent the rest of the day lounging
between spectacular dives. The dive guide
who spent the next 2 days with us was
fabulous - he pointed so many wonderful and
weird critters to us, we had trouble keeping
up! We were a group of 3, all photographers
- very often, he'll have enough critters to
keep all of us snapping away simultaneously.
New Year's Eve as absolutely spectacular -
Gary & Louise planned an absolutely amazing
fireworks show for the small group that was
at the cottage
The coziness and warmth of the place appeal
to us much more than a large sprawling
resort. We'll definitely be back!
